Wow I never knew all of this, but I have a friend who thought the same way like the guy you mentioned. And I think, most gay male here always have that commentary that they used to be straight. Idk, here in Indonesia LGBT is a wayyy more complicated and strict so unless it's in your circle then you wont' hear any gay/lesbian stories.
