On the Days When I Don’t Feel like Writing

This is how I push through and get things done

Today is one of those days. It’s Monday, and I just had a rough time last night. Some things just didn’t feel right — I couldn’t help but cry my eyes out to sleep.

So it only makes sense for me to not want to do anything the next morning, maybe have that Indian dessert I’ve been obsessed with while lying in bed the all day.

It’s so tempting to do so.

But I knew I wouldn’t get far in life if that’s what I do every time I feel unmotivated. You can’t get anything done just by relying on motivation.

Certain things in your life need consistency; otherwise, it’s going to fall apart — at least that’s how I think of it.

And when it comes to writing (or anything else really), you can’t just do it whenever you feel like it.

You can’t write only when you’re full of inspiration and you’re so optimistic about life. You’ve gotta stick with your schedule no matter what.

And as someone who just quit her 9–5 job to write full-time, I find it hard to build a routine when all of a sudden you have so much time.
