I Refused to Live in My Village. Here’s Why
I crave freedom more than anything.
People tell me how “arrogant” I am for not wanting to live in the village. My family is there and will stay there forever, but it doesn’t feel like home anymore. That’s why I moved.
And I fell in love with the idea of living in a bigger city. Not because of the fancy buildings or the fun nightlife I could have, it’s more than that.
Living in the city gives me so much freedom. No one asks me randomly in the street, asking how much money I make or why I am not married yet. I finally have the privacy that I’ve been dreaming of since I was a kid.
No matter where you live, there are positive and negative sides to it. You can’t have everything. Sure, it gets lonely sometimes living in the big city with no family around, but there are certain aspects about living in the village that makes me so frustrated.

The Education
Most people in my village don’t care about education. They care about building big houses, getting a new vehicle, or signing for the new land but never about going to college. They think it’s a waste of money.
