My biggest fear in a romantic relationship is screwing things up because of my stupid trust issue. It’s been there in me since I was 17 and had successfully destroyed the first relationship I had with my high school sweetheart.

Trust issue is a big deal. Unfortunately, not many people take it seriously until their relationship falls apart.

A study to investigate the influence of lack of trust on romantic relationship problems shows that:

“As predicted, lack of trust had a significant influence on conflicts in relationships. This may imply that romantic partners will experience conflict in their relationships due to their inability to trust each other. Our study also discovered that lack of trust will positively associate with the intention to break up.”

So, how do you deal with trust issues in your romantic relationship? First, let’s talk about why you have it in the first place.

Yes, childhood trauma is real.
